Resident Evil 7 - 10 Crippling Issues Capcom Need To Fix

2. No Focus

The Resident Evil series has become such a convoluted mess of entangled storylines that it can often be difficult to keep track of what on Earth you are actually meant to be fighting. From the early days when Umbrella was the main threat, gamers have since been introduced to organisations like Neo-Umbrella, Los Iluminados and Veltro. Couple this with the kitchen sink approach employed by Resident Evil 6; in which Capcom seemed so determined to please everyone that they stretched themselves too thin to produce a bloated and - at times - directionless product, and you have a recipe for disaster. Capcom need to settle on what they want the Resident Evil games to be and put 100% into that experience. They also need to trim the fat and untangle the web of story threads that they have created so that the next game feels more focused and makes you want to keep playing, rather than making them feel like they have to just to make sense of it all.
