Resident Evil 7 - 10 Crippling Issues Capcom Need To Fix
3. No Shinji Mikami
There's simply no two ways about it - the Resident Evil series' downfall has most definitely coincided with Shinji Mikami leaving Capcom for newer pastures. Mikami was the man who really made Resident Evil what it was, and it was his vision for the series that helped carry it through a number of sequels - each of which offered something a little different to the last while still ensuring the hardcore fans were kept happy. This culminated with Resident Evil 4, where he created a game that was a little bit of a base breaker yet still won plaudits aplenty for its sheer quality and inventiveness. Unfortunately, following Resident Evil 4, Mikami departed Capcom and the rest is history. Without Mikami to guide the ship, both Resi 5 and 6 faltered in one way or another. While it most likely be an impossible task to bring Mikami back into the fold, especially given his commitments to Tango Gameworks, there is no denying that Mikami makes great games and his return would most likely see a true return to form for Resident Evil.
