9. Chainsaw Man
CapcomAs mentioned in the last entry, an ongoing complaint with the recent instalments in the series has been that Capcoms creations have failed to frighten us like in the early years, despite the obvious leap forward in terms of graphics. If there is one exception to this rule it is the Chainsaw Man, a class of powerful Chainsaw Ganado capable of ripping the player in half with a single swipe of the weapon theyre named after. With a surprisingly unnerving burlap potato-sack concealing their face, every appearance of a Chainsaw Man in RE4 and RE5 inspired sheer terror in the player and often resulted in their character running to the other half of the area to avoid the ominous foe. This horrifying enemy was also so hard to drop that they often forced us to empty our entire reserve of ammo on them. With the Chainsaw Man being somewhat of a poster boy for the games more action-orientated titles, it was a great shock that he was a no show in RE6. With Capcom trying to get the series back on track, speculation is rife that we will once again be feeling our hearts pounding as that all-too-familiar potato sack comes around the corner.
