7. Returning Characters
CapcomWhile new characters are a fantastic way of adding new life to an already existing franchise, Resident Evil has given us many characters which we have fallen in love with. Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy are perhaps the most well known and beloved characters of them all but as they both appeared in Resident Evil 6 and each had a turn at being the protagonist of the more recent games (Leon - Resident Evil 4 and Chris - Resident Evil 5) maybe its time to see the return of another familiar face. There have been rumours that the next installment of Resident Evil will feature a female character which we havent seen for a decade which could indicate the return of Claire Redfield who hasnt been seen since Code Veronica. While most people think this indicates the return of Claire it could also be a clue to the return of Rebecca Chambers who hasnt been a main character in the Resident Evil games since her appearance in 2003s Resident Evil Zero. Regardless of who this mystery female is, the return of some old characters from the series will bring a nice sense of familiarity to the gamer and perhaps reignite the interest of some of the fans of the earlier games.
