Resident Evil 8 Wishlist: 10 Things Fans Want To See

7. Deeper Puzzles

Resident Evil 7 Basement

Bar one or two smaller moments, the last Resident Evil didn't really have many puzzles that really made you stop and consider what to do next. It was a massive step up from the action heavy Resident Evil 6, sure, but this approach could go so much further.

Puzzles as deep as the statue or the bookshelves from the second game need to be included in RE 8, as besides being a horror game, Resident Evil is also known for its challenging and interesting brain-scratchers.

Some of the best puzzles in the franchise's history come from interacting with the environment. Even the Baker residence had this element to it, incorporating classics such as the shotgun puzzle and animal based room keys.

Perhaps the next Resident Evil should try to stray away from relying on classic puzzles, as although its a nice nod back to the roots, it means they're usually quite familiar.
