This is one of the earlier, more primitive Plaga experiments that Saddler and Los Iluminados conducted. The original host was actually rather small before Plaga increased its size astronomically.
The locals used this creature to dispose of unwanted guests, but when it wasn't feeding on them, it would often hunt for more unsuspecting prey.
How To Beat:
First off, don't stand on the back and shoot the water because doing so will trigger the Del Lago to leap out and conduct an instakill on Leon.
At first, this seems like a quite simple fight, but is actually one of the better encounters in execution. Harpoons directionally to the mouth are the best method in taking this beast down and when it is dragging Leon around the lake, dodging the debris would be advised. Otherwise, he'll be next on the menu.
