Resident Evil Remaster: 10 Things Newcomers Need To Know

6. The Original FMV Sequence Is Gone

Like the dialogue, the original Resident Evil was also known (and mocked) for its cringe-worthy opening cutscene, featuring real actors and some awful cinematography; it looks like something a group of kids have made in their back yard. The best part is the game's cast list which introduces each character with an over-the-top intensity, something which simply needs to be seen to be believed. http://youtu.be/YBPorxYQcwc Despite the obvious charm and talent which pours out of that scene, Capcom saw fit to cut it for the REmake, replacing it with a CGI version which better explains the plot and set-up, perhaps as part of their initiative to turn the game into something resembling a quality experience. Gone but not forgotten, Resident Evil's FMV intro will live on in infamy for sometime.
