Resident Evil Village: 5 Best Parts (And 5 That Sucked)
3. WORST: Heisenberg's Boss Fight
Most of our negatives on this list have been fairly minor but this is a big one. Whilst Resident Evil can, at times, be ridiculous, it has often maintained a degree of realism and at least cloaks its odd creates in a veneer of science, even if that science isn’t always accurate. After Resident Evil VII featured a return to smaller, more contained horror, fans were entitled to think we would never again see the ridiculous likes of the T-Rex boss fight from Resident Evil 6.
Fans thought wrong.
This boss fight feels like challenging Magneto to a giant-sized version of Robot Wars. It feels like it was lifted from another game and pasted into Village, throwing off all the tension, the atmosphere and the goodwill that the sequel has earned up to this point.
Heisenberg’s ability to hurl metal with his mind is one thing, but having him turn into a giant mechanical enemy whilst Ethan drives a rideable-version of Sir Kill-A-Lot is too much to handle, even in a Resident Evil title.
It is easily the worst boss fight in the entire series’ history.
