Rise Of The Tomb Raider: 10 Killer Features It Must Have

9. A Decent Cast Of Characters

One of the elements of the recent Tomb Raider that really stood out was that Lara wasn€™t alone on Yamatai island, instead there were members of a whole crew investigating the forestation too €“ one which decreased vastly in numbers as the game continued. It would diminish the importance of the survivors if nothing was heard from them during the course of the sequel and Rise should probably take note of how Mass Effect 2 handled a similar situation with its secondary characters. Instead of simply having the same crew appear once more, the surviving characters can appear in part and reference others. This would leave them open to return in later games within the resurgent franchise because with the number of deaths seen in Tomb Raider, it would be surprising if Rise didn€™t have a similar toll. It also allows the sequel to introduce a new cast of characters which enables the writers to weave them in and out of any future games. The last thing that the fans want is to get to the end of the sequel and have the exact same survivors left as they did during the first game. Likewise if Lara went through the entire game alone it wouldn€™t feel as fleshed out as the first game.
