Rise Of The Tomb Raider: 10 Killer Features It Must Have

6. Even More Spectacular Visuals

Tomb Raider was an extremely beautiful and diverse game that looked stunning, but there were also scenes which looked quite disgusting; mostly involving dismembered body parts and a large quantity of blood. Thankfully those scenes were restricted to the areas inhabited by the Solarii and the rest of the time, Lara is traversing waterfalls by climbing across destroyed World War II planes and sliding down ropes that cut across canyons. One thing that really has to be praised is the variety of weather effects. During the course of the game pretty much every single possible weather effect seen previously in a video game was crammed in - with the exception of a sandstorm €“ and they were all gorgeous. From the snowfalls as she climbs higher and higher on the island and the crazy wind scenes blowing away the huge samurai, even to the delicate rain splatter effects throughout the game; it all added exponentially to the overall game experience. Gamers will expect Crystal Dynamics to up the ante with the sequel resulting in bigger and better levels, but considering the bar that they already set themselves this might be some task. They€™ll have the power of next gen consoles on their side and the improvements as seen in the Definitive Edition, which are something to behold as they are visually superior to the original 360/PS3 releases.
