Rise Of The Tomb Raider: 10 Killer Features It Must Have
5. A Tutorial Level Or A Rollercoaster
To say that the new Tomb Raider threw you into the thick of it is rather an understatement. There was a bit of a tutorial, but it consisted of running for your life then being tied up and having to escape from a room full of corpses. Its a bit of a change from the old days when you could run around the mansion until youve pretty much gotten used to how far Lara can jump before tackling anything else. So something for beginners would be a nice touch in Rise of the Tomb Raider, which would also be helpful as a refresher for players from the previous game too as theyve probably spent the time between releases playing Assassins Creed and the Arkham games, all of which have subtle differences in the controls. It doesnt have to be a mansion, but perhaps a separate tomb which isnt quite so rammed full to the rafters with complete and utter danger immediately upon picking up the controller. Or perhaps Crystal Dynamics prefer to give players a complete and utter roller coaster ride of a game for the first 45 minutes each time and will utterly ignore this suggestion? Just do one or the other, because while the first would be handy, the second would always be exhilarating... again.
