Rise Of The Tomb Raider: 10 Killer Features It Must Have

3. A Decent Multiplayer Mode

One universal complaint about the Tomb Raider reboot was the state of the multiplayer mode which was considered to be a waste of time by many reviewers. It was based around a series of team matches which pitch a team of survivors from the Endurance against a team of Solarii €“ effectively in a mode of play which didn€™t match what you expect from a Tomb Raider solo game. It€™ll be interesting to see where Crystal Dynamics goes with the multiplayer mode after the announcement of the co-operative function seen in Assassin€™s Creed: Unity, especially when the developers have a similar idea coming out in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - the other game in the franchise also announced at E3. That game allows up to four gamers to play together in a co-op mode but in overhead perspective in the same manner as Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light from 2010. So it remains to be seen if they could overhaul the multiplayer to compete with ACU, or if they would even want to, as it might step on the toes of their other new release. Regardless, the creators have to do something with the multiplayer mode because if they return to the one seen in 2013€™s Tomb Raider then expect further complaints.
