Ryse: Son Of Rome Review: 5 Reasons It's Hugely Disappointing

1. Verdict

Ryse Header There€™s no beating around the bush or stopping the bleeding, Ryse is absolutely breathtaking to watch in action, it€™s just that in action the game is extremely boring and destined to be as forgotten as Rygar. It€™s a shame too because there is a market for a great gritty and realistic Roman adventure game if the success of shows like Spartacus are a reasonable indicator to go by. Crytek clearly tried though; they went to genre experts, researched various aspects of the time period (the story is historically inaccurate though), and hired some brilliant voice actors to match their phenomenal character models. They just couldn€™t execute anything right and left us with a graphical powerhouse that sends us looking up future Xbox One title release dates. Ryse: Son of Rome is ultimately just another console launch title absolutely no one will remember 5 years from now. Ryse is available now in NA and UK and is exclusively for the Xbox One.
