4. It's Been In Development For A While
A lot of people have gotten the impression that work on Saints Row IV only started following the sale of the franchise after THQ collapsed. Thats not the case at all. Saints Row IV has been developed from a planned expansion of Saints Row: The Third, titled Enter the Dominatrix. When the developers realised how ambitious and how great the idea for the expansion was, they decided to turn it into a fully-fledged game. This means that the game has technically been in development since Saints Row: The Third was released. Considering other games that manage to release quality sequels annually (Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed) a two year turnaround for a new Saints Row game is plenty of time to make it great.
