Silent Hill: 10 Reasons A Hideo Kojima Reboot Would Be Awesome

9. Kojima Would Bring It Back To Basics

If there's one thing that Kojima is, it's smart. As much as he is a great director and writer, he's also a smart businessman. And if he were to be given the job of restarting Silent Hill, he's smart enough to know what he has to do. He would know what the original game was built on, and I'm certain that he would try to bring as much of those elements back as possible. Kojima would likely trim the fat, and craft an experience that is built on the chilling atmosphere that you really need. Taking it back to the horror roots, Kojima would allow for a much more intense and scary experience than ever before in franchise history. And even with the limited technology that Konami was working with in 1999, they still created a top-notch horror experience. Imagine now, with all the tools that Kojima has at his disposal, the kind of experience he could create. Part of what made the original Silent Hill trilogy so scary was that sense of panic. It was a constantly looming presence, and one of the most basic pieces of the puzzle a horror writer has at his or her disposal. Kojima knows psychological horror, perhaps better than anyone, and this alone makes him perfect for the job.
