Silent Hill: Every Playable Character Ranked Worst To Best

Henry is a huge outlier in the Silent Hill series, not just because of the circumstances of his narrative but also due to his personality and presentation.

It's easy to see how his position on a list like this could fluctuate amongst different players, but there are some solid reasons why he deserves a slightly higher place.

Firstly, Townshend has the distinct luxury of being one of the only characters in the series who doesn't have an overtly tragic backstory driving him towards the town. Instead, he's an outsider who is drawn into the supernatural events thanks to his unfortunate living situation in the haunted apartment 302.

This does take away some of the cathartic justice that fills the lore of Silent Hill, but also gives him a unique place in the line-up as just a "regular Joe", which is not often explored in the series.

Additionally, his introverted personality and slightly darker tendencies - especially including that peeping hole in the wall - make him slightly unnerving despite his nice demeanour. He also comes across as likeable though, thanks to his altruism and poor luck in being involved with the titular locale.

He's not particularly exciting, but his place as a Silent Hill protagonist is unique.
