Silent Hill: Ranking 9 Games From Best To Worst

7. Silent Hill: Homecoming

The first American developed Silent Hill is also one of the most vehemently despised and while it€™s understandable why, I also applaud the game for its attempt to modernize the combat in some way. They just went a bit too far down the action route with unnecessary quick time events, overblown boss battles, and lost that sense of vulnerability and horror for its protagonist. Its worst offense though is the near plagiarism of Silent Hill 2 to the extent where it coined in the same exact twist. The story also is a disjointed mess that shoehorns in more exposition on the infamous cult. Also, if Pyramid Head is in a game that isn€™t Silent Hill 2, it€™s nothing more than shameless whoring out of the character considering the metallic and triangular headed executioner€™s existence is directly related to the plot of that game. Despite all of that it€™s probably the most fun Silent Hill game to actually play, complete with refined shooting and evasive maneuvers. Everything else is just a disappointing mess but we did get another amazing end credits song.
