9. Del Toro's Visual Style Is Impeccable

Did you ever see Blade 2, and witness the mutated vampires known as the Reapers? It was one of Guillermo's first major works that helped to garner a cult following in the west after a couple of subpar horror films and a brilliant passion-piece in The Devil's Backbone. Afterwards though it was off to the races, with the masterfully crafted Pan's Labyrinth becoming that perfect mix of his older work and the new. The story that saw small girl Ofelia journey into a Tim Burton-esque macabre wonderland aided superbly by del Toro's visuals that brought the dark fairytale world to life - maintaining a really disturbing sense of weight and consequence in the real world whenever the two would meet.
Carrying over to how this can apply to Silent Hill though, any who have gotten through the P.T demo will know what awaits in the bathroom of the house you get to explore, and although in Pan's we saw a similar babylike creature under the bed actually turn into something quite beautiful - in P.T it has a far more horrifying Eraserhead/David Lynchian vibe. We can only assume that this small teaser was also put together by Kojima Productions and Guillermo himself, as we know when the latter likes to, he can conjure up some absolutely horrifying creations.
