Skyrim: 10 Most Useful Shouts and Where to Learn Them

Slow Time

€œShout at time, and command it to obey, as the world around you stands still.€ Words: TIID (Time), KLO (Sand), UL (Eternity) This shout does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin. When you activate it, time itself slows to a snail€™s pace (or do you speed up a la The Flash?) leaving you to move through it at a more accelerated speed than the world around you. The first word TIID slows time to 30% of normal speed for 8 seconds but each extra word learned increases both the percentage and the duration of the effects. Uses: Slow Time is a real handy shout that has applicable uses in a whole range of situations. It€™s invaluable for getting past traps such as swinging blades and in combat it€™ll help you out of a bind against either a single foe, or an entire group of weaker enemies. It€™s even handy if you find yourself needing to flee and can help put ground between you and your pursuers. Perhaps its most useful application though is when facing a particularly tough enemy; one which hits hard enough that you€™d rather avoid damage from it all together. As this shout allows you to move more quickly through the slowed time than your opponents, by extension it makes you harder to hit. This allows you to bring the fight to your target, get in some hefty power blows and get clear again without fear of the consequences.
