Skyrim Remastered: 10 Crucial Things Fans Need To See
4. A Completely Bug-Free Experience
The idea of a bug-free game upon release feels like a distant pipe dream that we once had, in the era just before online connectivity and automatic became the norm. The idea of a bug-free Bethesda RPG? Nigh-on unthinkable.
From Morrowind to Far Harbor by way of Skyrim, Bethesda RPGs have always been notoriously buggy - sometimes game-breakingly so. But Skyrim Remaster has five years of official patches, unofficial patches, mods and hindsight to fall back on. Because of these things, maybe, just maybe this could be the first time Bethesda (re-)releases a game without crippling issues?
In fact, more than just hoping for it, fans have a right to demand it. No broken quest-lines, no-game-breaking bugs, maybe the occasional visual hiccup will be acceptable. Love 'em or hate 'em, remasters are a great test of how committed developers are to their audiences. Will the remaster be a lazy cash-in, or a worthy and polished tribute to one of the greatest games of its generation?
No pressure, Bethesda, but there's no excuse for your trademark bugginess here.
