SNES Classic Mini: 20 Video Games It Must Have

19. Super Tecmo Bowl III

Sports titles are a must for any multiplayer session, and are needed to create appeal for a mainstream product: this one for the American market.

Super Tecmo Bowl III was a graphical step up from prior American football games and was fully licensed by the NFL. It had playbooks selectable during the match with player portraits and rosters, as mini cut-scenes played for important match moments, all making that little bit more exciting and realistic (for the time).

The original came out on the NES and Tecmo Bowl III was the 1995 edition of the series, hitting both Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo. Commonly praised as one of the best American football games of the 16-bit era, this one is definitely worthy of inclusion.

Bryan Langley’s first console was the Super Nintendo and he hasn’t stopped using his opposable thumbs since. He is based in Bristol, UK and is still searchin' for them glory days he never had.
