South Park: 7 Reasons Fractured But Whole Is Worse Than Stick Of Truth

3. Stick Of Truth Had Funnier And More Inventive Parodies, Homages And References

The Story of The Freedom Pals is humorous, but it’s not as intelligent and imaginative as The Stick Of Truth. The children dress up as superheroes, yet the comic book genre takes a back seat to all the satire of PC culture, and its inclusion is blatantly an excuse to have combat and powers in the game:

Other than the quips about struggling to know what is and isn’t canon in their own cinematic timeline, there is very little homages and references to the superhero genre beyond the costumes that you can discover and wear.

Meanwhile, in The Stick Of Truth, everything fantasy and video games was parodied and referenced through the imagination and practical skills of the children, in addition to the absurdity of the show: the Iron Throne from Game Of Thrones, the voice messages you hear on the alien’s spaceship and – best of all - Canada being a 16-Bit RPG.

The Fractured But Whole feels as if it’s aware that any joke they make about the superhero genre will have already been done before, and because of this Trey Parker and Matt Stone should have chosen a more timeless and unlimited subject to ridicule.
