Spider-Man 2: 10 Villain Boss Fights We Need To See

All eyes might be on Harry and Norman Osborn for Spider-Man 2, with the former poised to become Venom and the latter inevitably set to become the Green Goblin, but there's another iconic Goblin in the wall-crawler's library - one belonging to the 'hob' variety.

For those who grew up watching the nineties Spider-Man cartoon, it was the Hob - not Green - Goblin who served as their first real introduction to the web-slinger's main villains.

Although the character was created in 1983 by Roger Stern and John Romita Jr. some two decades after the debut of the Green Goblin, the cartoon elected to make Hobgoblin the original, Goblin-themed adversary for Spider-Man to deal with, and rolled all the different characters who took on the mantle in the comics into one. (Plus, Mark Hamill voiced the character, which is never not a good thing.)

It's easy to see how Insomniac could reimagine the character with similar success, although introducing both the Hob and Green Goblins at the same time could prove one pumpkin bomb too many. Either way they're worth considering, as they've received way less airtime than Norman over the years, as well as the fact the Roderick Kingsley incarnation has struck up a rivalry with Miles Morales in recent years.
