Spider-Man 2: 10 Villain Boss Fights We Need To See

7. The Spider-Slayers

The Spider-Slayers are another big part of Spidey's history that have to feature in Insomniac's Spider-Verse at some point.

Created by Spencer Smythe before their technology was used by his son, Alistair, the Spider-Slayers were robotic death machines that hunted the web-slinger throughout the character's early adventures. More interestingly, they're also inextricably linked to J. Jonah Jameson.

Insomniac's interpretation of J. Jonah as a terminally online podcaster was another welcome change made for Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but it would be nice to see the character in a more physical way as the series progresses.

In the comics, Jameson was the one who commissioned Spencer to build the Spider-Slayers and several of the models came with the added feature of a television screen, meaning JJ could chastise the wall-crawler as he was pursued.

Taking JJ's podcast one step beyond and having him pilot a drone to hunt Spidey in New York would add a great new wrinkle to the character's depiction in-game, and provide a more spontaneous threat for Peter and Miles to come up against as they patrol the Big Apple.
