Spider-Man: Miles Morales - 10 Things It MUST Include
6. Peter's Complete Absence
Everyone thought that Miles Morales would suit up as Spider-Man in the full sequel to 2018's game, but only alongside Peter Parker as a dual protagonist. The fact he's gotten his own title is a really welcome surprise, and Insomniac would do well to ensure the story remains Miles' own.
For one reason or another, it looks as though Peter is absent during the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It's not clear yet why that may be, but the Silver Lining DLC did state how Mary Jane had travelled to Symkaria to cover the civil war unfolding there. Could she have gotten caught up in the conflict, forcing Peter to head there and help her out? It's possible, but again, nothing is confirmed until it is.
Regardless of what Peter is getting up to, it's clear the next title is meant to be a coming of age story for Miles. This is his breakthrough moment as Spider-Man, and it's a journey he has to figure out on his own. Plus, Miles has been anchoring his own stories in the comics for a decade - it's about time he was given the space to navigate his own story without Peter or other Spider-Men stealing the spotlight.
