The Guardians, thanks in no small part to their MCU success, have skyrocketed in popularity for being distinctive amongst the other teams within Marvel canon.

Insomniac's most obvious choice would be Rocket Raccoon: he's an anthropomorphic animal, he's got a penchant for a multitude of outlandish weaponry, and possesses a dry sense of humour that's prone to wise-cracking. What are two of the most famous series Insomniac initially developed? Ratchet and Clank and Spyro - need we say more?

Of course, don't limit them to just the one character - the Guardians are going to work far better if they're able to bounce off one another. Hence why this game would likely be more mission-based, with this restriction likely being the best way to make sure that, whichever line-up they choose, no-one is left feeling under-used.

Guardians would be a good shout for Insomniac if they decided to change setting from alternate New York to far-flung galaxies, all the while sticking to that kind of outlandish signature tone that their best IPs have had from the beginning. Each Guardian would have unique powers but would more importantly be a unique character, making sure that we were glued from start to finish.
