Spider-Man PS4: 10 Marvel Games Insomniac Should Make Next
5. Wolverine
Opening up the X-Men franchise in video games would be amazing, precisely because playing such a complex character as Wolverine would make for an absolute treat.
Technically, Wolverine would be a perfect avatar for the player precisely because his powers are so understandable: he can take a hell of a beating, and slices and dices foes to shreds with his adamantium and/or retractable bone claws. Ripping through foes in combat would be immensely satisfying, but Insomniac would probably have to make Wolverine more of a brawler than action-adventure to avoid combat eventually becoming a bit stale.
Because of the constant pain Wolverine's in using his claws, this adaptation would be better off a few shades darker in tone than Spider-Man, but there's nothing to say that Insomniac couldn't move away from the hi-jinks of some of the other Marvel heroes in favour of telling a deep, more adult story.
With so many classic storylines to follow like House of M or Old Man Logan and a cavalcade of amazing enemies like Magneto, Cyber, Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike, there's a lot that could be done to make a Wolverine video game both fun to play whilst not foregoing an engaging narrative experience.
