Spider-Man PS4: 10 Problems The Sequel MUST Fix
7. Puzzle Minigames
There's no harm in having minigames within your title. Games such as The Legend of Zelda are littered with countless minigames and puzzles that keep players coming back time and time again. In fact, some mini games become so popular they receive their own standalone game as with The Witcher and Gwent.
Unfortunately not all minigames are created equal and detract from an otherwise fantastic gaming experience. This is exactly the case with Spider-Man PS4. Starting early in the game, you are introduced to circuit and sequencing puzzles at Otto's lab.
Neither minigames are quite that exciting to begin with, with the sequencing puzzle being particularly dull. The puzzles do increase in difficulty as the game goes on, but they are rarely anything that would truly stump a player. There is even an option to skip puzzles entirely, ensuring no player is unable to progress.
With that in mind, you have to wonder why the puzzles have been included in the first place. It's not often that a puzzle is crucial to the story and it slows down the rhythm of the game dramatically. Additional puzzles are available in Otto's lab to complete at a players leisure, but unless you're a completionist, most didn't even give them a second thought.
