Spider-Man PS4: 10 Problems The Sequel MUST Fix
2. No More Stealth Missions
Stealth missions aren't easy to get right. Franchises like Hitman and Metal Gear Solid have made a name for themselves, showcasing the best examples of how to make a stealth game. Whereas some developers have nearly tanked games with terrible, forced sections of gameplay.
One of the most common complaints about the web-slinger's PS4 title involved the stealth aspects of the game. Players got the chance to play as Mary Jane Watson and Miles Morales during crucial parts of the story.
But while it was a nice change of pace, the sections were often long and drawn out. Each mission relied on the same obstacles and tricks and provided little enjoyment to complete. To make matters worse, players were subjected to the same "WAIT!" cutscene used across both characters every time they were caught.
The ironic part is, Insomniac get the stealth sections so right in other parts of the game. When playing as the web-slinger himself, stealth missions are available through Taskmaster challenges and within the storyline itself.
With the many different abilities that come with Spidey, stealth sections are much more interesting. Different ways of navigating the area and taking down enemies make sections challenging and hold players interest much more.
