Spider-Man PS4: 8 Past Mistakes It Must Avoid
2. A Lack Of Peter Parker
Beenox's Amazing Spider-Man sequel tried desperately hard to make Peter Parker a standout feature of their game, but it wasn't meant to be. That game aside, pretty much every Spidey title has neglected Pete, or at least reduced him to a cursory role in their main narratives.
It's a recurring theme throughout comic book adaptations, with both film and gaming opting to focus on the cape and cowl of comics' greatest characters rather than what lies beneath. It comes at the detriment of readers everywhere though, and with Insomniac set to switch focus to Pete this time around, showcasing his frustrations with his alter-ego, they could be serving up one of the most interesting stories we've seen in a comic book game to date.
Everyone knows the appeal with Spider-Man is how relatable Peter Parker is as a character. For the first time in a long time, a game finally looks set to address that head-on.
