Though the Wilson Fisk of today is commonly thought of as a Daredevil villain, it's the wall-crawler who was his first adversary.
Introduced in 1967 by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr., the Kingpin is the worst of New York's criminals. If there's an available pocket, you can be damn sure he has his hand in it, and with Vincent D'Onofrio having galvanised the character's onscreen presence in Netflix's Daredevil, it's easy to see why the character is set to appear in Insomniac's Spidey title.
The exclusive PS4 title is said to kick things off with a flashback to the day Spider-Man finally apprehended Kingpin. The crime boss, as was already disclosed in the game's first E3 demo, is locked away on Rikers Island. That doesn't mean he's without power though, and while Mister Negative and his Inner Demons see his incarceration as an opportunity to expand, it's unlikely that Kingpin will set out this battle for long.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
