Few characters to have been introduced to Spider-Man's comics have made as big an impact as Miles Morales. The hero, introduced by longtime Spidey writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli, has experienced massive interest as of late, owing to his increased prominence in the comics themselves as well as the fact that his Spider-Man has, for the most part, been much more interesting than Peter - at least in recent years.
Miles is set to feature in a prominent way in the PS4 game, although it's not yet clear whether he'll be suiting up with Peter yet. One would certainly hope so, in light of the character's recent development and the fact he's set to appear in his own animated film later this year. There's also the fact that, with Insomniac having focused on an older Peter, a passing of the mantle could yet take place.
In any case, Miles isn't just a character you have as a nod to the comics. He's massive at the moment, and with Insomniac determined to differentiate their interpretation of the Spidey mythos from all the others, having Miles take the lead at some point would make a lot of sense.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
