Spyro Reignited: 8 Bosses We Can't Wait To Fight
4. Gulp
An inventive piece of gameplay, and the missiles look so cool in the new artwork. Those were a huge part of the battle too, shooting colourful projectiles for Spyro to dodge. It's highly likely that Reignited will make their palette even more vibrant than before, and fans can't wait to see this battle burst into life.
Right from this start, this boss encounter is memorable with Spyro sneaking up and scorching Ripto from behind. Then there's the birdcalls as they fly in explosive barrels to headbutt towards Gulp. Crashing skull first into an explosive barrel doesn't seem like the best idea, but Spyro appears to know what he's doing.
It's just the range of things at both competitors' disposal that makes this interesting. Along with the barrels, Spyro has the miniature rockets he can spit at Gulp, while the dinosaur itself has various electric attacks alongside the air support.
Another brilliant example of Toys For Bob updating the appearance for modern consoles while still sticking to the spirit of the original. With that huge snaggletooth sticking out, it looks like Gulp still couldn’t afford those braces though. Shame.
