Star Wars Battlefront 2: 12 Features EA Must Add
10. Ranked And Unranked Matches
As we all know, EA took microtransactions out of the equation after a monumental backlash at the tail-end of 2017, yet there are now rumours they're making a return. Whichever side of the fence you sit on, there is an easy way that EA can fix the problem:
Unranked and Ranked Matches.
By allowing players to buddy up with other players of a similar skill set, they are less likely to feel dominated on the battlefront, and those who do pay ridiculous amounts of money for upgrades and star cards can battle against players that do the same.
There are some issues with this proposal. For one, a player’s Rank is not determined by the quality of the star cards that they possess, as these are rewarded through Loot Boxes rather than progression. There’s also the fact that if an Unranked/Ranked system comes into play, it may discourage players from buying loot boxes because it’s doesn’t give them as much of an edge.
It would be great for players, but not necessarily for EA’s bank account.
