Star Wars Battlefront 2: 12 Features EA Must Add
7. Look Again At The Hero System
The new Hero System is far better than its predecessor, but it’s not without its problems. Rather than sitting around waiting for a token to spawn, players are encouraged to earn battle points in order to play as your favourite hero or villain. It’s a more progressive way of playing, but there is still an element of chance to it.
You can take down your enemies, complete your objectives and finally have enough to play as Luke Skywalker, only to find… oh, they’re already in play.
9 times out of 10, you’ll have the points, but never get to play as them. Players with higher star cards can upgrade their heroes and last longer on the battlefront, and without a time limit, players can last for as long as they are capable. You could be left waiting a while, and even then you’re banking on them being available once you’re back at the class menu.
EA could implement a system that allows players to reserve a hero and are subsequently notified when they become available. From that moment, players are then asked if they want to respawn as their chosen hero, in a similar way to the classic Battlefront games.
This would eliminate the pot-luck aspect of them being available when you’re back at the class menu and not making player’s efforts feel unfulfilled.
