Contradictory lore implications be damned: Darth Maul is too cool a Sith Lord to be remembered only for co-starring in the same film as Jar Jar bloody Binks.
Excluding, for obvious reasons, Battlefront 2's story-heavy campaign, DICE isn't just individually covering all three eras of Star Wars' chronology, but smashing them together for the ultimate 'best of' battle royale between good and evil. Maul and Yoda never had the opportunity to trade blows with their fizzing, neon-glowing sabers in the films, but that doesn't mean one can't dream about how that - or any canon-breaking match-up, for that matter - encounter would play out on-screen.
Joining the OG cast of heroes and villains from the first game, the likes of General Grievous, Kylo Ren, and the freshly-canonized Iden Versio will be playable in Battlefront 2's multiplayer, ready and willing to partake in any grudge match of your choosing.
Best of all, though, DICE has scrapped the poorly-implemented Token system from the original game. No longer will you need to scour the landscape like a blind man in search of his dog - each and every Star Wars icon will be rewarded via a points system.
Battle Points work much like Call of Duty's Killstreak system, only, instead of AC-130s and Predator Missiles, playing well awards you control of Jedi Masters and other special folks. Like these...
