For the majority of Battlefront 2's single-player adventure you’ll be taking control of newcomer Iden Versio, but multiple times throughout the story players will also be put in the shoes of iconic heroes and villains from the franchise like Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren.

Although this could have been an amazing way to give players the power trip that they always want from a Star Wars game, early impressions suggest that these sections are far too fragmented and extraneous to the core story to actually feel like a satisfying part of the solo experience.

Acting as small distractions from the main plot and only occasionally involving Iden herself, these short bursts as heroes and villains have been said to not add much to the single-player itself outside of a brief change up to the gameplay, and if anything actually take focus away from what makes the story so enjoyable in the first place.
