Though probably a no-brainer to some, the next Battlefront will feature a much more varied arsenal than its predecessors did. Both Battlefront I and II had weapons that were already well established in the Star Wars mythos, with iconic blasters mingling with vehicles alike. Dice seem to be focussing on innovating and expanding this arsenal however, which whilst bound to offend some die-hard fans will more than add variety to the FPS's multiplayer. Rest assured that classics like the E-11 blaster will make an appearance, but don't be surprised to see some weapons that haven't featured in the films and established canon pop up - remember, the old Expanded Universe is now gone, and with its departure its rules need no longer apply. Obviously we won't be seeing something that looks garishly un-Star Wars like, but be prepared to see a good amount of old mixed in with the new! In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir. John Carpenter is his fave, and he thinks Batman Beyond should never have been cancelled. If that's your vibe, you'll probably like his stuff.
