Battlefront 2's original hero roster at launch was a little on the weak side. Sure, iconic figures like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Darth Vader were all present, but there were serious holes that needed to be filled, particularly in relation to the prequels. As DICE were hard at work revamping the progression system following the game's loot box controversy, it wasn't until 2018 that the imbalance was addressed, with General Grievous arriving in October, before being followed by Obi-Wan, Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker a few months later.

The final roster of heroes and villains is pretty commendable, with January's Rise of Skywalker update adding droids BB-8 and BB-9E into the game, but the community will be the first to tell you that there were plenty of figures they feel were overlooked.

When it comes to Battlefront 3, the same mistake mustn't be made twice. Ahsoka Tano should be the first new addition, with her dual lightsabers providing different gameplay opportunities compared to the other lightsaber heroes. Joining her should be Asajj Ventress, while other figures like Captain Rex, Padme and Cad Bane were all frequent community requests.

Going into different eras, Battlefront 3 could also draw upon the recently released Mandalorian, and have Din Djarin as a fellow addition alongside Moff Gideon, or even IG-11. Either way, this isn't a case of less equalling more. Bring back Battlefront 2's entire cast, and be sure to include these fan-favourite additions.
