Star Wars Battlefront 3: 10 Ways To Make The Perfect Sequel
7. Greater Variety With Co-Op
Co-op may not be a focus of the new Battlefront titles, but if you had the old games and weren't around for the early days of Xbox Live, it was basically what Battlefront was known for.
Teaming up with your buddies to coordinate a Galactic Conquest campaign was the absolute best, and made for all sorts of amazing stories to tell if you found yourself up against a decidedly tricky enemy force. Co-op was even brought back for the 2015 Battlefront reboot, but it was effectively just a horde mode with little depth, while the mode took years to come to Battlefront 2, by which point some sizeable improvements had been made.
Co-op did what it said on the tin for Battlefront 2, supplying players with an enjoyable if not repetitive experience for players to relive certain Star Wars battles, but it still lacked depth. It needed something more.
Intricate co-op modes are hard to come by these days, but something with a bit of narrative would go a long way. Same goes for a mode that wasn't just 'attack/defend' the objective. Give players something a little more intricate next time, and co-op could be a highlight, rather than just a neat diversion.
