Star Wars Battlefront: 8 Big Things It Must Learn From The Older Games
5. Planetary Bonuses Spice Things Up
This feature was pretty brilliant for the first Battlefront, adding what basically equated to a mini chess match to the proceedings of simply running and gunning your opponent in various arenas. These 'planetary bonuses' were instrumental in dominating the galactic battlegrounds of the series' first entry, with everything from extra health and reinforcements to even calling in a Jedi or Sith leader sometimes deciding the fate of a battle before it was even fought. I myself remember all too well the terrifying feeling of turning around a corner in the first game only to be confronted by Darth Vader's raspy breathing with his crimson sabre brandished - needless to say the only course of action was a swift and hasty retreat! Implementing these features to the newest generation of consoles may be easier said than done, especially since Battlefront's fundamentals have been changed from the ground up for the reboot, but a clear tactical element is definitely lacking in its combat.
