Star Wars Battlefront Reviews: 11 Critical Reactions You Need To Know
2. Solo/Offline Players Have The Limited (But Fun) Survival Mode
The Tatooine level in the beta was a pretty solid indication of how this mode was going to go; a wave-based survival mode with a couple of tiny cutscenes either end and the majority of time spent trying to hold one position on the map. That said, IGN's Mitch Dyer wrote - on his review in progress "Survival mode is Battlefronts most unexpected success". It seems playing offline yourself or grabbing a friend for some co-operative help is a huge amount of fun, and the perfect way to play if you're just not up for another massive 40-player battle. "New enemies with invisibility, jetpacks, extra armor, and shields force you to change the way you react to each assault" and "its especially rewarding on higher difficulties", but Dyer ends by saying, "entertaining as these deep, involving missions are, there arent many compelling reasons to replay a Survival mission once youve finished."
