Oh, Fighter Squadron, where do I begin?

It's a huge shame, really. Dogfighting with laser-clad starfighters should be the absolute pinnacle of nostalgic wish-fulfilment. I mean, this is your shot! You can be Porkins as you hurtle towards the surface of the death st-

Okay, bad example.

But you get my point, duking it out with TIE-Fighters in an X-Wing should be an absolutely fantastic experience - not one that bores you because of the repetitive nature of the game modes they feature. The first two Battlefronts managed to work with it just fine, so why can't this one?

In the interest of fairness, I will concede that the final phase of Battle Station is fun, but only when you get the chance to be Red Five and navigate the Death Star trenches and blow the thing to kingdom come. Until that moment, it's still encumbered by the blanket monotony of Fighter Squadron, and we all know how popular that mode is simply by looking at how quickly lobbies drop when it comes up.

Dogfights can be fun, but give players more variety when it comes to taking to the skies.
