Street Fighter 6 DLC: 10 Characters Capcom MUST Add
6. Dudley
In the introduction to this article, we expressed our irritation over Capcom's insistence in trying to make Ed happen, with the studio putting the Balrog/M.Bison hybrid front and centre of the first batch of DLC despite the fanbase's antipathy towards the character.
It's especially galling as Capcom have a far superior boxer waiting in the wings in Dudley - the quintessential British gentleman who would box Ed's ears off then treat him to tea afterwards.
Dudley differentiates himself from Street Fighter's other boxing characters by being the only one who fights like an actual boxer. Ed relies heavily on "Psycho Power" - the made-up form of energy that empowered the villainous M. Bison - and Balrog uses cheap shots and raw power to bludgeon foes into submission. Dudley, by way of contrast, utilises his footwork to bamboozle opponents. Dashes and step-backs are the order of the day with Dudley, as he tags opponents with jabs while making himself hard to hit.
Balrog might have all the fame, and Ed might be Capcom's flavour du jour, but for many Street Fighter fans Dudley remains the series' best representative in the noble art of fisticuffs.
