Sunset Overdrive: 10 Things It Does Better Than Anyone Else
10. Collectibles You'll Actually Want To Find
Collectibles seem to be taking over the video game world. Nearly every game released nowadays tasks the player with trekking all over the world to find and collect seemingly meaningless objects. Sunset Overdrive is no exception, but it does the whole thing much better than anyone else. For starters, it actually allows you to buy maps that pinpoint the location of these items on the world map. Many games still don't feature a similar system, requiring the player to go online and find videos or images that highlight where everything is. Why the extra step? An in-built map system allows the player to methodically find and collect the items themselves; you won't be roaming for hours trying to find the one you somehow missed last time you were there (we're looking at you, Assassin's Creed). In addition it's also far more rewarding. Collectibles act as currency towards buying some awesome amps (upgrades) from Floyd, driving you to go out and collect everything in sight for better rewards. Some of the game's most exciting and intriguing amps can be found among Floyd's wares (like Spread The Love which heals allies running behind you in your movement stream) so it's well worth the hassle of roaming around and finding everything.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
