9. The Soundtrack Is Already Iconic

One of the best surprises so far from Super Mario Odyssey is the soundtrack. Although it does have the typical Mario ‘sound’, it also features lyrics for the first time in the series.

This has resulted in the iconic theme “Jump Up Super Star!”, which has been stuck in our heads ever since debuting at this years E3. Not only is this theme fantastic at describing the themes present in Super Mario Odyssey, it’s also infectiously upbeat. Mahito Yokota has outdone himself this time.

Besides the main theme, the soundtrack for each world is also distinct and catchy, which is exactly how it should be in a Mario game. Here’s hoping that even more fantastic tracks appear for the rest of the Kingdoms.
