Super Mario Odyssey 2: 7 Enemies That Need To Be Playable
3. Boo
First introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3, the Boo has become one of the most iconic Mario enemies returning in every mainline game ever since other than Super Mario Odyssey. A ghost that won't attack you as long as you're looking at it, Boos are great and would make for an interesting capture.
But how would they play? Well just look at Super Mario Galaxy for the answer. Super Mario Galaxy introduced the Boo Mushroom which transforms you into a Boo. Wait, a mushroom that turns Mario into a ghost, it's just a poisonous mushroom isn't it?
As Boo Mario, you can float around and phase through walls. It's a lot of fun yet underutilized in the game. It returns in Super Mario Galaxy 2 but is used even less there.
A capturable Boo could play identically to how Boo Mario does in the Galaxy games. Also, adding Boos to a Super Mario Odyssey sequel would give the developers an excuse to create a spooky-themed level, something that was lacking from the original game - no the Cap Kingdom might have ghosts in it but it's far from spooky.
