For a lot of people, revolutionary RPG game Secret Of Mana was a greater game than far more mainstream games like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and it's hard to argue that it pushes it close. The game also had something Link never did - co-op play between the three leads, an evolution that changed the genre.

And best of all, while it's easily one of the greatest RPGs released on the SNES, it was also far more accessible than most of its genre-mates, stripping down the control system (and introducing the Ring Command system) to appeal to a wider gamer set. Which is only right when the experience is this magical.

Inevitably, Square's development made for incredibly visuals - particularly during battle sequences - and music - which is almost enough to warrant playing through alone.
