Super Nintendo Classic: All 21 SNES Games Announced - Ranked

9. Donkey Kong Country

Donkey Kong Country was not only the first really successful collaboration between Rare and Nintendo, but it was also arguably the best of their relationship. It is also still the best Donkey Kong game ever released, which is saying something.

Notable at the time of release for its 3D-style graphics and excellent platform levels, Country felt like it was pushing the limits of the SNES' capabilities - which was the great trick of its aesthetic - and it breathed new life into the ageing console. The co-op gameplay also helped set it apart, despite a fairly limited play style.

It still holds up now as one of the most entertaining platform experiences on the console, and its inclusion on the Classic is an absolute no-brainer.
