That's not just impressive, it's phenomenal - especially when you consider it outsold its nearest sales rival by 2 to 1.

Is it the greatest platform game ever released? There's definitely a compelling argument that suggests so. It is the culmination of everything Nintendo had done up to this point, with exciting, refreshing gameplay evolutions bolted on - like Mario's ability to fly with his cape.
